Mistoria Community Support Projects
The Mistoria Group and our founder Mish Liyanage are in the fortunate position to be able to financially support a range of community projects both in the UK and internationally.
As a property company, we consider homelessness a major issue in the country. Via various social property investment initiatives, Mistoria would like to play a key role in, if not eradicating, at least minimising the social impact of homelessness in the community by working with similar like minded people and businesses.
Mish, who was born and raised in Sri Lanka before moving to the UK, has chosen to support some fantastic causes for young, vulnerable and poverty stricken people and also for those who have suffered through conflict in different parts of the world.
Details of all of the current projects and organisations we are supporting are outlined below and we hope you and your colleagues will join with us in supporting these great projects.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of the UK's leading cancer centres.
We bring together expert staff, high-quality care and excellence in research to drive forward the development of new leading edge drugs and therapies and provide outstanding specialist care for patients.
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading cancer centres providing highly specialist cancer care to a population of 2.4m people across Cheshire, Merseyside and the surrounding areas including the Isle of Man.
Our three specialist cancer centres are in Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, Wirral and Aintree. We also operate specialist chemotherapy clinics in seven of Merseyside’s district hospitals and deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home service.
Together, this enables us to provide a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies (i.e. medicines) including gene therapies and immunotherapies. We are also the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers and host the region’s Teenage and Young Adult Unit, (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust).

APSL Scholarships
Education is an incredibly important element of developing individuals and overcoming poverty. Although education has been free in Sri Lanka since independence back in 1948, over the years it has become competitive and costly, thereby putting a good education beyond the reach of the poor.
The Scholarship Scheme was launched in 2014 as part of APSL’s 10th birthday celebrations, as a vehicle that would enable many people, both members and non-members alike, to support this vision.
Mistoria are a key supporter of the APSL Scholarship Scheme whose aim is to help gifted children in Sri Lanka continue their education and minimise the risk of dropping off school due to poverty.
The Scholarship Scheme provides:
- Sri Lankans in the UK with a simple and efficient channel for ‘putting something back’, that will help transform the lives of the next generation,
- Colleagues and friends of Sri Lanka, with an opportunity to contribute to an initiative that will make a real and lasting difference in the lives of poor.
